Brilliant WiFi A60 globes RGB+W (20741)

I picked up a 3-pack of these Brilliant WiFi A60 RGB+W E27 globes from Aldi recently (Model Number 20741), with the intention of flashing them with Tasmota and doing some experimentation in Home Assistant.

Firstly, some photos of the bulb and box.





I was able to easily flash these with Tasmota easily using tuya-convert, and fortunately there was a template available in the repository, meaning they were also easy to configure. 

These globes are controlled via four separate PWM signals for the red, green, blue and white leds.

There were also very good instructions on the Tasmota wiki for configuring the globes in Home Assistant.

    Hi. I have the exact same ones however i have flashed mine and in the web ui of tasmota i dont get any options for changing the colour. I have used the template on Blackadder. The link you have above i get a 404.

    Is the below the same as what you have??

      In the console you have to write for max warm white:
      color 0,0,0,255

      Red
      color 255,0,0,0

      Green
      color 0,255,0,0

      Blue
      color 0,0,255,0

      As krozzie suggests, unfortunately you can't control the colour through the Tasmota web UI. It needs to be done using console commands.

      The template you are using seems to match what I am using, and also what is in the templates repository.

      As you pointed out, the template for the device has been moved, and can now be found here. I've updated the blog post with the new link.

Controlling Samsung Air Conditioner from Home Assistant

I've gradually been connecting as many devices as I can using Home Assistant. One of the things that has been on my list is our WiFi connected Samsung Air Conditioner. It is a Samsung model AR24FSSSBWKN sold in Australia in around 2015. We have made use of being able to control the air conditioner using the Samsung Smart Air Conditioner Android app , but it has always been problematic. It consistently requires a username and password to be entered when using it outside of the home, recently it has stopped working inside the home, and it also requests some (in my view) unnecessary permissions (such as telephone and contacts). So, the idea of being able to control it via Home Assistant is appealing. I'd considered trying to set something up with my Broadlink IR Pro  to control it via IR, but most of the possible solutions seemed a bit clumsy. PIR Sensor with Wemos D1 Mini and Tasmota

I ordered a couple of these AM312 PIR sensors from Banggood recently, to test using them in a multi-function sensor with Tasmota . There is some good information on configuring Tasmota with these sensors , and the manual can be found here . You can see an image of the sensor below, along with pin assignments. Thanks to the creator of this image; unfortunately I can't find the original source to offer credit, but am happy to do so if you reach out to me! These PIR modules simply behave as a switch. To experiment, I've simply connected the OUT pin to D2 (GPIO4) on a Wemos D1 Mini module, and have configured the LED on D4 (GPIO2) on the Wemos to turn on when the PIR sensor is triggered, as a visual indicator.
